H1N1 Vaccination Clinics - Ramsey County
Saint Paul - Ramsey County Public Health will hold H1N1 FluMist clinics the week of Nov. 16 for healthy children from 2 years through 9 years old who have no health insurance or no vaccine coverage. The vaccine will be available free on a first-come, first-served basis, at the following locations and times:
- Arlington High School - 1495 Rice Street, Saint Paul, map and directions (pdf), Friday, Nov. 20, 6 p.m to 9 p.m.
- North Heights Lutheran Church - 2701 N. Rice Street, Roseville, map and directions (pdf), Saturday, Nov. 21, 9 a.m. to noon.

H1N1 Vaccination Clinics – Washington County
Washington County’s Department of Public Health and Environment is conducting H1N1 flu vaccination clinics for children 4 through 9 years of age from 9 a.m. to 12 noon Saturday, Nov. 21, at the following three locations:
There is no charge for the vaccination. Due to the continued limited supply of vaccine, changes to clinic operations on Nov. 21 may occur. At this time, the department is reaching out to families with children attending Washington County schools.
The county is following the Minnesota Department of Health recommendations for targeted groups who are at greatest risk from the 2009 H1N1 flu virus. Additional clinics are planned for December. Parents may call the Department Message Center at 651-430-6820 or check www.co.washington.mn.us/flu for vaccination clinic information.

North students recognized for volunteer service
Two North High students, Sandra Lomotey and Diem Pham, have been chosen as 2009 Youth Service Award Winners for their outstanding volunteer service to the Saint Paul Public Library system. Because of their volunteer participation, the library is able to provide enhanced programs and services for the community.

School Board approves Annual Report, School Improvement Plans
The North St. Paul-Maplewood-Oakdale School Board approved the district’s 2008-2009 Annual Report on Curriculum, Instruction and Student Performance at the Sept. 22 board meeting. In addition, the Board adopted the 2009-2010 District and School Improvement Plans.

Board adopts proposed tax levy
The North St. Paul-Maplewood-Oakdale School Board adopted the proposed 2009 payable 2010 property tax levy at its Sept. 22 Board Meeting.

Ramsey County Library is pleased to announce that “Homework Rescue: Online Tutoring” is now available — in plenty of time for students to familiarize themselves with this terrific resource before the busy homework season begins.

Young Scholars program comes to District 622
The Office of Educational Equity is excited to announce a new initiative called The Young Scholars Program. Young Scholars is a program designed to increase the proportion of historically underrepresented students in gifted programs. It was adapted from a model begun by Fairfax County, Virginia, and brought to District 622 with a lot of help from the Rosemount-Apple Valley-Eagan School District 196, which started the program three years ago.
