Flexible Spending
What is it?
A Flexible Spending Account provides a way to pay for medical/dental expenses (including co-pays and deductibles) and daycare expenses. The amount of expenses you sign up for is deducted automatically from each paycheck throughout 2009 on a pretax basis. Therefore, you never pay state, federal or social security tax on these costs. You may elect up to $5,000 for dependent care expenses and up to $3,000 for medical and dental expenses.
Notes
*The money allocated to a flexible spending account must be utilized during the plan year (January 1, 2009-December 31, 2009) -- any money not used will be forfeited.
*Elections from 2008 will not roll over for 2009. You must re-enroll for the 2009 plan year.
*The District uses a third party administer, Corporate Health Systems, to maintain FSA accounts and issue reimbursement paymetns.

To view the monthly insurance premium for your Employee Group, click on appropriate plan below. Find your employee group on the left column; be sure to note full time vs part time and any relevant dates. Then follow the row across to the gray section if you have Family coverage or the white section if you have Single coverage. The columns show the current monthly District Contribution, the employee portion and the approximate payroll deduction to begin in October.
