BLOODBORNE PATHOGENS

This training module is designed to provide a basic understanding of bloodborne pathogens, common modes of transmission, methods of prevention, and other pertinent information. ISD622 is responsible for determining employees who are “reasonably anticipated”, as a result of performing their job duties, to be in contact with bloodborne pathogens. The following employees are required to be trained within 90 days of their hire date and yearly throughout the duration of their employment with ISD622:  Adventure Connection site manager                 Health education assistants Athletic coaches (football, soccer, basketball, hockey, wrestling, gymnastics,  track and field) Ice arena workers Athletic trainers Industrial technology teachers Building supervisors Level 4 special education teachers Bus drivers/bus monitors Lifeguards Child care teacher site managers Lunchroom supervisors Custodians MSMI teachers Early childhood family education (ECFE) teachers OT’s, PT’s, PTA’s, and COTA’s Early childhood special education (ECSE) teachers Paraprofessionals (child care, special ed, and LPN) EBD teachers Physical education teachers Education assistants (front office only), Playground supervisors Engineers Principals/assistant principals Food service Referees Front office secretaries School nurses Hall monitors Speech/language pathologists Water safety instructors This program is designed to meet the requirements of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s (OSHA’s) Bloodborne Pathogen Standard,  29 CFR 1910.1030 Read the online version of the training module below, print the test, answer all questions and return to the Human Resources Department at the District Education Center. 1.) Read the training module and take the test Bloodborne Module Bloodborne Test 2.)
