There are approximately 1,700 full and part-time employees working in School District 622. They all fall into one of the eight departments listed on the right. Many of these employees are part-time.

• Nearly 70% of the district's staff is involved in direct instructional contact with students.
• Support staff comprises just over 21% of district staff. These are employees, many of whom are part-time, that provide support to keep the operation going smoothly and allow teachers time to be in the classroom.
• Community Education programming reaches people of all ages, from early childhood through adult, using a staff that is largely part-time. Programming to these diverse populations is provided by less than 7% of the district's staff.
• District administration, which includes principals, superintendent and cabinet members, comprises less than 2.5% of the district's staff.
