Integration Equity Mission Statement

"District 622 will create positive school and community environments, which provide equal opportunities for all students to be academically successful and multi-culturally literate citizens."

As the District 622 community becomes more diverse, so do the needs of students in our schools. It is the job of the district's diversity program to make sure all students have a chance to succeed.

The Integration Equity Department exists to carry out the Minnesota Desegregation Rule, which calls for a partnership between St. Paul Schools and surrounding districts. The goal of the Desegregation Rule is to reduce racial isolation and increase interracial contact for students between St. Paul and adjacent suburban districts.

District 622 is a member of the East Metro Integration District 6067, a consortium of 10 school districts created to increase voluntary integration between urban and suburban students.
