Filing dates set for School Board elections

Candidates interested in filing for one of the four open School Board seats this fall can file their affidavit of candidacy beginning on Aug. 26 in the Business Office at the District Education Center, 2520 East 12th Avenue, in North St. Paul.

The filing dates will run for two weeks from Aug. 26 until Sept. 9. An affidavit of candidacy must be filed with the school district election clerk and the $2 filing fee paid prior to 5 p.m. on Sept. 9.

Candidates for School Board must be an eligible voter, must be 21 years of age or more on assuming office, must have been a resident of the school district for at least 30 days before the general election, and must have no other affidavit on file for any other office during the same general election.

The general election will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 4 and four members will be elected to the School Board for terms of four year each. There will not be a primary election for School Board.

In addition to setting the filing dates, the School Board also confirmed the election polling places, which have been established by the cities located within the school district’s boundaries. A list of the polling places can be found by clicking here.
